Industrial Design
New product designs start with an industrial design. Industrial design engineering ensures that the product in concept is translated in to a feasible design considering multiple factors. Its starts from ideating multiple concepts of the same product idea to incorporating usability, functionality, aesthetics, manufacturability, sustainability and user experience in to the design.
Industrial design is the translation of a concept into a tangible product that will meet the needs of the consumer and fit seamlessly into the process it is meant to facilitate.
By incorporating latest design technics and tools, Sunstream’s Industrial design team can rapidly refine a concept through a series of sketches, models and/or prototypes, always focused on the aesthetic appeal and usability of the product. We use a range of digital and physical tools which elevates the initial concept to its maximum potential.
Conceptualization:
Sunstream with a team of experienced electrical, electronic, and mechanical engineers with diverse experience, can support the product conceptualization phase. Taking directions from customer, Sunstream’s industrial design team can come up with multiple product concepts as sketches, 3D designs, mock ups and non-functional prototypes. We use joint ideation sessions with customer to ensure that we are on the right direction in this phase. Each concept is validated based on a set of criteria pre- agreed with the customer and the one to further work on is selected.
Branding:
Sunstream’s industrial design team can incorporate your brand philosophy and elements in to the industrial design process. This ensures that our concepts stay in line with the overall brand image and family. Branding in product development is the practice of designing products to share similar attributes or features so they appear to belong to a common “family.” Branded products should fit a company’s image, identify with their target market, and be recognizable by consumers based on appearance alone.
Sketching:
The core of conceptualization and ideation, sketching allows our industrial designers to quickly explore and communicate various functional and aesthetic directions. Sketching can be rougher for quick, broad exploration or more refined for honing in on a “look” or explaining an idea to outside stakeholders.
Photo-realistic Rendering:
Our industrial design team can generate realistic images (or videos) of your product before anything has been physically built. This allows you to present different aesthetic variations to stakeholders, create marketing materials, or provide reference images for market testing prior to investing in further development of a concept.
Product Architecture:
Industrial design isn’t all about “looks.” Creative exploration can also focus on functional aspects of a product. How will a product solve a problem? What materials are to be used? How should internal mechanisms are arranged? Where are various user touch-points located for ease of use and maximum functionality? All these questions are answered in the design in the product architecture phase. Our engineering team, user experience team and styling team will work hand in hand to ensure that the concept selected is developed further to a feasible architecture keeping in mind all these concerns.
Prototyping:
Sunstream has necessary partnerships to ensure that the concepts developed are prototyped for evaluation and improvements. We can involve different prototyping technics to realize the product. We have extensive experience in prototyping using
- 3D Printing ( Additive Manufacturing)- We can 3D print your parts using Fused disposition modeling (FDM), Sterelithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS)
- CNC Machining (Subtractive Manufacturing)- We can support in metal prototyping using CNC machining
- Injection Moulding- We can use injection modeling method to do plastic parts prototyping
- Sheet Metal Prototyping- WE can support sheet metal fabrication to get parts build with this technology.
- Laser Cutting and Engraving: We can support metal, plastic and wood parts prototyping using laser cut methodology.
- Carting: Sunstream can support casting part prototyping wherever required.
